Many people like to go to art galleries,
and they do so for various and personal reasons. Some like to analyze paintings,
some the relationship a work of art has to history. Others enjoy the interplay they find between color and light, while
still others simply like to feel the aura that emanates from the canvasses hanging on the walls around them.
I don't begrudge them their successes, though. We are all human, after all,
and one man's success enhances all humankind.
They may not all be masterworks, but each tells a story through a unique blend of technique, raw material and history
that- if one takes the time to discover it- is important and artistic. And just as each art lover appreciates a painting
in his own unique way, each painting - and everything behind it - is also unique, making the interaction between audience
and art always fresh and never entirely predictable.
Our artists' gallery is just such a place. It may be true that the art contained within is not as tangible or immediately
apparent as you would find in a picture gallery, but each artist herein is a unique and talented individual: someone who
not only has a unique physical instrument but whose personal history is just as integral a part of who she is as an
artist.
The Artists' Gallery is where artists are truly seen for who they are: art and artist combined. In this gallery you will
be able to peer behind the pictures and see artists in three-dimensions, enabling a deeper level of acquaintance and,
hence, appreciation. If you are an art lover this may or may not, of course, enhance your experience: after all, you may
be one of those for whom such information is incidental to what you consider to be a meaningful experience. It's still a
very nice gallery, however. On the other hand, you may very well discover that it offers you a unique experience that you
have never before encountered, and affords you an entirely new level of appreciation.
If you are an artist, all that can be asked of you is, simply, "Wouldn't you want to give your audience another way of
looking at you?" If there is another way of connecting with your audience it is valuable.
