We take seriously our role as vocal instructors, just as we expect our students, as well, to put forth their best efforts while in the studio. Prospective students, parents and guardians, please read to know what to expect at the voice lesson.
What to expect in the lesson at Core Melody Voice Studio
Anyone who endeavors to undertake the study of singing should be prepared for some hard work; and, since the price for voice lessons- depending on one's location and teacher- can range into the hundreds of dollars per hour, you are paying good money and deserve the same effort from your teacher in return. We take seriously our role as vocal instructors, just as we expect our students, as well, to put forth their best efforts while in the studio.
Physical activity should be preceded by a thorough and purposeful warm-up in order to ensure that it causes no harm and focuses properly the individual's efforts. Singing is no exception to this. As a student develops both the conscious and unconscious understanding of what is expected of him, this warm-up period becomes much more efficient, and thereby shorter. When first starting out, however, most students spend the majority, if not the entirety of their lessons working solely on vocal exercises designed to reinforce good technique, as well as to “wake up” their voices. Each student is unique, so these will by necessity vary from individual to individual, and even from lesson to lesson. Eventually, up to and even more than half the lesson can be spent working through the application of technique to repertoire, but every hour will always begin with a warm-up period. One more important factor must be mentioned: while microphones, karaoke machines, and other external enhancements have a very important place within the music industry, they have nothing to do with the voice itself and so are not utilized inside our studio.

What to expect:
