stands for HyperText Markup Language, and is the predominant markup language for web pages. The basic
building-block of webpages, it consists of tags -in many forms- made of enclosed angle brackets, usually found in pairs. These control
the behavior of Website page contents. HTML is a language, and a beast on its own; but, once you get to know it, it's a friendly one-
and can be quite fun.
Let's use an example to help explain it: Say, you expect your DH for dinner at 7, but he shows up at 9. This is the conversation you
To make all the drama happen on a Web page, you will have to be somewhat creative. The tags below are just for a little taste of
This is what it looks like, after the tags are applied.
Where were you?
Why DIDN'T you call?
Honey, I needed to finish a report for tomorrow's 8 o'clock meeting.
I was so focused that I forgot that I didn't tell you this morning.
I love you, honey, and I'm sorry.

There are quite a few tags; bold, italic, underline, different font sizes and colors,
paragraph, quote, list, table, link, picture, etc., but you don't have to worry.

Soon enough, you will remember what they are and what functions they serve.
At some point, if you're like me, it's faster to type in some of the tags yourself.
I've used some of the editors and found that KompoZer
and free. There are others like Evrsoft First Page
, but these are not free.
I only mentioned those four big names because I've used them all and now am content with using Arachnophilia
The good thing about Evrsoft First Page
is you will be able to preview your page right in the editing pane.
See what works for you. As for me, I don't mind to preview my HTML page as I build by opening it right from my file.
Choosing HTML editor
is not a big deal. What more important is how to choose the provider. In order to have a decent and functional
Website that is seen by people (why build a Website if it's just for your eyes only?) you need to put time and money in it. My suggestion is
to do your homework very thoroughly before you commit.
